About
The Game
Rugby
is a game similar to football with an artful combination of
running, passing, kicking and tackling. Unlike football,
the play doesn't stop once the ball carrier is tackled.
The play continues with both teams "rucking" or
"mauling" to gain possession of the ball and to
continue the advance. Each team fields 15 players and at
the high school level the games are 30 minute halves.
Rugby
has a legacy for respect on the field and camaraderie after
the match. On the field the referee is only addressed by
the team captain and is always addressed as "Sir".
After the match, the home team provides a meal which allows
both teams the time and the environment to socialize.
Over time, this makes the greater rugby community one big
happy family.
Where
We Play
